Dream purpose.
Now that you've had an experiment with the dreamworld and what you can do there, you might want to think about setting yourself more specific goals in the dream, things you want to accomplish or discover. Maybe you want to use lucid dreaming to discover something about your personality, or find out why you have certain fears. It's important to think about these goals before you try and induce the dream so they're really stuck in your head and you have a clear idea what you want to do.
Maybe you want to practice a situation, for example, A job interview, or an important speech and you want to feel what it's like in those situations before you do it in real life. Maybe you want to travel to a distant planet and become inspired by what you see there in order to write a fiction novel? there is no end to the inspiration and ideas you can find within a dream.
Whatever your purpose, make sure you have a clear idea of it before you lay down to sleep. this will help you to focus when you enter the dream, and should prepare your mind to help you achieve the goal.

Entering the dream with clear goals.
When you enter the dream from whichever induction method you're using, it's important to stay focused on the purpose of your dream. Obviously don't forget to bring the background and scenery into focus and command them to become more vivid and clear, but at the same time, remember the objective. that's what you're there for.
At this stage you can use some basic stabilization techniques to make sure you stay Lucid and don't drift, slowly turning on the spot is a good one to start with, this will make the dream scape slightly more stable and less likely to change. Now focus on where you need to be for your objective or goal in this dream. visualize it clearly and spin round, 'willing' it to appear in front of you.
As mentioned in other blog posts about this, you are the only one setting the limits for yourself. Believe the dream scape will change, know that you have the power to make it change, and it will. Once you are in your scene, where you want to be, now is the time to really stabilize the dream and ground yourself in the dream world.
Using advanced stabilization techniques to go deeper in the dream.
Making the dream more stable is important as you become more advanced and try more complex ideas in the dream, you need to make sure the dream doesn't just collapse when you get excited, so you need to ground yourself into the dream. Make triple sure of your reality checks, ensure you know beyond a doubt you're dreaming, then start to relax, tell yourself that you have the power to do anything in this dream, since it's all in your mind.
Gathering 'Chi energy'
Chi energy is a concept of energy that has been around for hundreds of years, and without going into too much detail, you can use it to stabilize a dream to a large degree. Stand or sit still, try not to move much, and stretch your arms out in front of you. Imagine and try to feel an energy sourced in the middle of your chest and also coming from behind your forehead.
As you stretch your hands out, feel the energy in the palms of your hands, you may even see the energy in the dream as a sort of gas, or colored steam rising from your palms. Now imagine and feel the energy going from your hands, chest and forehead down through your body, and into the ground. Feel your feet against the ground, and concentrate on feeling the energy between your feet and what you're standing on. This will really ground you in the dream and the clarity of the world will be increased many times.

Advanced environment/weather setting for the Lucid Dream.
As you are probably aware, the quality of sleep and thus the quality of the sleeping environment play a big part in how vivid and meaningful your dreams are. Therefore, in order to advance and learn more about the spiritual sport, you must make the area you are sleeping in better. There are a number of ways to do this.
The area you sleep needs to be fit for long and stable dreams therefore the bed needs to be comfortable..
Mattress and bed sheets. The mattress will ideally be a memory foam one, allowing better supported and more comfortable sleep.
Temperature. The room needs to be cool enough to allow the body to reduce its temperature and heart rate but not too cold that it goes below this and keeps you from sleeping. Usually the best way to judge this is to do a trial week where you have the window open to various degrees combined with your door and heating to find what's the most comfortable. the goal is to not let the room get too cold or hot at any point. A temperature regulation unit is the best way to go.
Aromatherapy. The room needs to smell nice to begin with, but there are certain aromas which stimulate various parts of your brain, lavender is said to be a good one for spraying the pillows with to make sleeping easier.
Sound. The place you're sleeping in needs to be quiet, although some people say that background noise such as rain or white noise helps them sleep. This one is down to you, what are you most relaxed by, because sometimes laying in silence with just the clock ticking keeps you awake. If you are comfortable with white noise, binaural beats or rain noises then by all means, use these. It's all about personal comfort and relaxation.
You can find a lot more resources for Lucid Dreaming and other tools to help you. There are lots of little things that really make a big difference in lucid dreaming, such as memory foam mattresses as mentioned here, a proper dream diary and more. See - Lucid Dreaming Tools and Resources.

The power of supplements. Supplements is a term used to describe anything you take or consume. Supplements can be used to create more vivid and intense dreams. The most common dreaming pill is vitamin B6. this can be purchased at most chemists or supermarkets and seems to make the memory of dreams better even after a few days of taking it. Another one that people take is the 'dream herb' Calea Z. This is a herb which is usually drunk in the form of a tea or smoked. It's said to taste disgusting but the effects are profound. Lucid Dreaming masks. These should be mentioned here because in terms of advanced Lucid Dreaming, dream masks can be quite beneficial. They are headsets that are worn in order to alert the dreamer at certain times in the night (usually in the middle of REM sleep) that they're dreaming either by a sound or an LED flashing in their eye. They work most of the time and the reviews/testimonials of the most popular ones are generally positive.
We wouldn't recommend getting a dream mask until you at least know what Lucid Dreaming is, the ins and outs of it and how it works before messing with your sleep cycle in this way, not to mention the high cost of most of them. that being said, if you know about them and still want to get one, they are really good and can be useful as they target you when you're at your most likely stage of sleep to have a dream, the REM stage. Rapid eye movement, as explained before is the time of night when you're most likely to have a dream experience.
